Conference Tournament Finals: March 12

Can’t get enough college basketball? Well you’re in luck, as three small schools will punch their tickets to the Dance on ESPN tonight.

Horizon League: (1) Valparaiso vs. (3) Wright State (9pm, ESPN)

Valparaiso is looking to make their eighth NCAA tournament and their first since joining the Horizon League in 2007. Meanwhile a win for Wright State would send the Raiders to their to their third NCAA tournament.

Northeast: (5) Mount St. Mary’s vs. (3) LIU Brooklyn (7pm, ESPN2)

Most assumed the NEC Tournament was Robert Morris’s, but a 69-60 loss to Mount St. Mary’s in the last round eliminated their tournament chances. Now Mount St. Mary’s will battle LIU Brooklyn to represent to conference. Though they’re only the third seed, LIU Brooklyn knows a thing or two about winning the NEC: they’ve won the last two conference tournaments.

Summit League: (1) South Dakota State vs. (3) North Dakota State (9pm, ESPN2)

The Jackrabbits of South Dakota State will face the Bison of North Dakota State in a battle of archrivals. Gotta love small conference tournaments. The Jackrabbits made their first tournament appearance last year, while North Dakota State are seeking their second tournament appearance (first since 2009).
